Goebel Claude Monet Artists House Table Clock 67021571
Description
Claude Monet and his family lived at Argenteuil, outside Paris, from 1871 to 1878. Here he depicted his five- or six-year-old son, Jean, playing with a hoop and his wife, Camille, standing in the doorway of their vine-covered house. The pleasant weather and neatly kept garden, a forerunner of the artist’s celebrated garden at Giverny, give a sense of tranquility and well-being to this painting.
The Artist's House
Original: National Gallery of Art, Washington
From his garden Claude Monet painted the summer facade of his first house in Argenteuil in 1873, framed by copiously blooming dahlia bushes. A good friend, Auguste Renoir, even perpetuated him doing so in a painting of the same renown.
Claude Monet (1840-1926) is considered as the father of Impressionism, we indeed owe one of his pictures “Impression, Sunrise”, the name of this major Art movement that left the most beautiful landscape paintings in history. Monet loved to paint outside. Like no other he was able to catch the magic of the moment in his paintings and fix it on canvas forever.
This original creation made by German workshop’s Goebel is adapted from a Claude Monet’s painting. It is part of the Artis Orbis Collection which presents paintings of world famous artists as editions for collectors and a discerning clientele.
