Description

The SWING (Limited Edition)- A Romero Britto Limited Edition Sculpture is a blaze of colours and optimism. The Sculpture is made of finest hard porcelain and decorated by hand.

Romero Britto is a Brazilian artist, painter, serigrapher, and sculptor whose distinct graphic style blends Pop Art with Cubist-like abstraction. His colourful illustrations and figurines of Disney characters, animals, and figures utilise patches of geometric patterns and texture rendered in a fractured perspective. “As an artist, I feel lucky to have been given the gift of creativity so that I may share my vision of a better world,” he stated. “I will never forget what it was like to be poor and that is why it is so important to me that my work be accessible to all people.”

Born on October 6, 1963 in Recife, Brazil, Britto is self-taught and credits a trip to Paris in 1983 to his interest in Modern masters like Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. He has found commercial success through work with brand campaigns, including a commission for Absolut Vodka in 1989 that helped to launch his career. Britto’s public installations can be found throughout the United States, Switzerland, and Brazil. He currently lives and works in Miami, FL.

He combines elements of cubism, pop art, and graffiti painting in his work, using vibrant colours and bold patterns as a visual expression of hope, dreams, and happiness.

Hailed as one of the 21st century’s masters, internationally renowned pop artist Romero Britto uses elements of cubism to create masterful visions of vibrant colours and bold patterns. His is a visual language of hope and happiness, reflecting his optimistic faith in the world around him.
