Ganesh Calcedonio

Description

Ganesh by Zanetti is a handcrafted Murano glass sculpture in rare Calcedonio, designed as a distinctive art object for refined interiors.

Made using the historic Calcedonio technique, the sculpture has a richly layered surface inspired by natural stones such as agate, jasper and onyx. Translucent and opaque colours flow through the glass in an unpredictable, painterly pattern, creating depth, movement and a distinctive visual character. The technique is highly sensitive to the glassmaking process, making each piece naturally different.

The Ganesh sculpture brings together the symbolic form of Ganesha with the expressive qualities of Venetian glass. Its sculptural presence makes it suitable for display on a console, sideboard, coffee table, bookshelf or other prominent setting where the intricate colouring and form can be appreciated.

Each piece is individually handcrafted, and small variations in colour, size and form may occur due to photography, lighting conditions and the hand-worked nature of the glass. No two pieces are exactly alike, and the artist may intentionally introduce variations, making every sculpture a unique work of art.

About Zanetti

Zanetti Murano is an Italian glass studio from Murano, Venice, with four generations of glassmaking heritage dating back to 1956. Maestro Oscar Zanetti was born into this tradition and began working with glass at 14, later refining his craft at renowned Murano ateliers including Venini and La Murrina before joining the family workshop.

Inspired by his enduring interest in the natural world, Oscar Zanetti creates handcrafted Murano glass sculptures drawn from the flora and fauna of the Venetian Lagoon. From horses and birds to fish, animals and abstract forms, each piece is shaped by hand using traditional blown and solid glass techniques. In India, Zanetti Murano was launched by Spacio, bringing Oscar Zanetti's distinctive glass artistry to Indian interiors.
