Kneeling Samurai Small
Description
Kneeling Samurai Small by Annie Delemarle is a leather sculpture inspired by the Japanese Samurai, with rich brown, ivory and black tones in a seated form.
The Kneeling Samurai is presented in a composed seated pose, with the figure dressed in layered leather garments and a pointed hood. Brown leather forms the outer robe and hood, while ivory sleeves create a strong contrast against the deep black lower section. Fine stitching and varied leather textures add definition to the different layers of the costume.
The sculptural interpretation focuses on the Samurai's distinctive attire and posture rather than facial detail. Its low, broad silhouette and compact height make it well suited to a console, sideboard, shelf or display cabinet, where the combination of leather, colour and form can be appreciated at close range.
