Armadillo Glass Bowl

Description

Armadillo Glass Sculpture by Anna Torfs is a hand-blown glass art object with layered translucency, bold cuts and organic geometry that shifts with light.

Part of Anna Torfs' Origins collection, the Armadillo Sphere was originally designed in 2004 and is made using traditional Bohemian glass-blowing techniques. Layers of translucent and opaque glass are built by hand, creating depth within the form. Sharp cuts pass through these layers, revealing changing patterns of colour, transparency and texture.

The rounded, segmented form works beautifully on a console, sideboard, coffee table or pedestal. Natural or directional light brings out the depth of the glass, while the hand-blown process means that every piece has its own subtle variations. Display it on its own as an art object or alongside carefully selected glass and ceramic pieces.
