Colorful Murano glass sculpture of a fish with a conical head on a gray background by Zanetti at Spacio retail store in Mumbai

Pelican With Goldfish Calcedonio

Description

Pelican With Goldfish Calcedonio is a handcrafted Murano glass sculpture by Zanetti, depicting a graceful pelican with a small goldfish suspended within its flowing, sculptural form.

The translucent glass body is enriched with flowing bands of green, blue, violet, amber and red, creating depth and movement within the sculpture. The sweeping form of the pelican contrasts beautifully with the delicate orange goldfish enclosed within the clear glass, while the Calcedonio technique gives the piece its distinctive, painterly character.

With its expressive silhouette and intricate use of colour, Pelican With Goldfish Calcedonio makes a distinctive collectible art object for a console, sideboard, bookshelf or other prominent surface.

About Zanetti

Zanetti Murano is an Italian glass studio from Murano, Venice, with four generations of glassmaking heritage dating back to 1956. Maestro Oscar Zanetti was born into this tradition and began working with glass at 14, later refining his craft at renowned Murano ateliers including Venini and La Murrina before joining the family workshop.

Inspired by his enduring interest in the natural world, Oscar Zanetti creates handcrafted Murano glass sculptures drawn from the flora and fauna of the Venetian Lagoon. From horses and birds to fish, animals and abstract forms, each piece is shaped by hand using traditional blown and solid glass techniques. In India, Zanetti Murano was launched by Spacio, bringing Oscar Zanetti's distinctive glass artistry to Indian interiors.
